Built by an engineer, for the people who do tax law.
I'm Vivek Mishra, a software engineer based in New Delhi. I built Arvitta after watching close family members who practise as Chartered Accountants spend hours every week drafting nearly-identical replies to nearly-identical tax notices.
The patterns are clear once you've seen a few hundred notices. A 143(1) intimation needs a rectification under Section 154. A GST DRC-01 typically asks for ITC reconciliation. An assessment order under 143(3) needs ground-by-ground rebuttal with case-law citations. These are templates with variables — exactly the sort of work AI is good at.
Generic AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) can write an English reply, but they fall down on the details that matter to a CA: which sub-section of which Act, which Rule, which circular, which High Court ruling. Drafts read fluently but cite phantom case laws. That's professionally embarrassing and legally dangerous.
Arvitta is different because it's built around Indian tax law specifically. Every draft is anchored in real provisions — CGST Act 2017, Income-tax Act 1961, Companies Act 2013. Case-law citations are pulled from a curated database of actual Supreme Court, High Court, and Tribunal rulings. You get a draft you can actually file.
What Arvitta is, and isn't
Arvitta is a productivity tool that turns a 4-hour drafting task into a 2-minute review-and-edit task. The CA stays in control. They review, edit, finalise, and sign off. The system handles the blank-page problem.
Arvitta is not a replacement for a CA. The AI doesn't render legal opinions. It doesn't decide strategy. It drafts based on patterns it has seen. Final responsibility for any submission filed with a tax authority rests with the practitioner, exactly as it does today.
The principles
- Indian-first. Every prompt, every example, every case law tuned to Indian tax practice. No US tax code lurking in training data.
- Cite or stay silent. The AI either provides a real section/case citation or leaves the assertion uncited. No invented references.
- Your data is yours. Notices stay in your account. We don't train models on uploaded files. Standard encryption in transit and at rest.
- Transparent pricing. Hard caps, no overage surprises. If you exceed your limit, you see a clear upgrade prompt, not a bill at month-end.
Where I am today
Arvitta is in early access. The core product — upload, classify, draft, edit, export — works end-to-end. I'm onboarding the first cohort of CAs (currently free, no commitment) to gather feedback and tune the prompts on real-world notices.
If you're a CA practising in India and curious whether this could save you a few hours a week, drop me a line. Or just sign up free and try it.
